Biography

I was a soldier in the army of the Roman emperor, and was stationed in Damascus. I became known because of my steadfast faith. Ultimately this led to my death, because my torturers continued to use more terrible methods while trying to make me deny my faith in Jesus. How could I! You will not want to know the details of my martyrdom. I was beaten, blinded and tortured most cruelly. After the whipping, Sebastian ordered my eyes to be gouged out. Saint Corona encouraged me to remain faithful untill the end. As she raised her voice in prayer, I knew that I wasn't alone in my suffering. During the prayer she saw two crowns falling from heaven: one for me, another for her. After this public act of faith she too died as a martyr.
